I grew up in the small town of Ada, OK and throughout high school I knew a big city is where I was meant to be. My dream of being in a big city would have to wait though while I attended college in Stillwater, Oklahoma where I received my Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration. During that time I also discovered my love of languages and completed over 5 semesters of Spanish education and a summer in Mexico. During college, with many internships and jobs, I learned that the hospitality industry was my calling. I was given many incredible and educating opportunities working in both the restaurant and private golf and country club industry. Soon after college I got my first taste of the big city when I began my hospitality career through a sales and events position in the hotel industry. While working in hotels I began to miss the relationships that are built when working in a private club and luck would have I was soon offered a position at Dallas Athletic Club (Yay! The Big City). I worked with DAC for several outstanding years, first through event planning and marketing and then later moving into the Membership Director position. In 2013 I began my career in Sales and Membership marketing with Gentle Creek Country Club. I find Prosper, Tx and Gentle Creek Country Club to be a great mix of my small hometown and my love of the big city. I have a passion for service, member relations, and making the membership members have today even better tomorrow. I am excited to be a part of the GCCC team and helping grow a Club that has such a wonderful past and an even better future.

Growing up in Lubbock, Texas, the wind shaped my golf game. I lettered every year in high school and attended Texas Tech University. I am an avid fan of Red Raider Athletics. I received an offer from Amarillo Country Club to get into the golf business while at Texas Tech. I jumped at the chance, moved to Amarillo and finished my degree at West Texas State University while at Amarillo Country Club. I moved to Houston, Texas to expand my horizons in the golf business. I received my first Head Professional's position at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston. I then moved to Head Professional positions at River Ridge Golf Club and eventually recruited to the prestigious Lakeside Country Club in Houston. After 15 years in the Houston area, I was coaxed to Dallas Athletic Club, in Dallas, as the Director of Daily Golf Operations and Teaching. In March of 2014, owner Molly Huie, hired me as Director of Golf here at Gentle Creek Country Club to direct golf professional staff, merchandising, tournament operations and teaching. My background of golf business operations, tournament management with expert teaching along with over 20 years as a Class A PGA Professional has turned out to be a natural fit with the Members at Gentle Creek. I enjoy teaching players of all levels and have helped over 25 juniors play in all divisions of collegiate golf. Studying the swing and body movement with certifications thru the Titleist Performance Institute, Level 2, the Nike Golf NG360 program powered by the Gray Institute and U.S. Kids Certified Trainer. I have been married to Lori Blackburn for 21 plus years and have two kids Lauren and Jacob. In my spare time when not chasing kids, I enjoy even more golf, football and cooking.

I was born and raised in Muleshoe, Texas on our family farm. Growing up the hot summer days usually consisted of driving a tractor, changing irrigation water or any other job that my dad needed help with. From an early age I learned what hard work meant and enjoyed being outside. After high school I attended West Texas A&M University where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Plant/Soil and Environmental Science. While attending college, I played for the WTAMU golf team and worked as an Intern for La Paloma Golf Club in Amarillo, Texas. The first summer I spent working on the golf course, I knew I wanted to be a golf course Superintendent. With my experience from growing up on the farm and later playing college golf, I felt like I had a solid start to a similar career. Upon graduation I left the Panhandle and headed to Dallas where I accepted an Assistant Superintendent position at The Northwood Club. The next spring my wife, Lauren, and I were married in Amarillo, Texas. A few years later I was presented with an opportunity to be an Assistant Superintendent at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth. Being part of a team responsible for maintaining a high level private club and hosting an annual PGA Tour event has proven to be an invaluable experience.
Since October 2007 I’ve been the Golf Course Superintendent here at Gentle Creek Golf Club. Obtaining this position meant that it would be my first, and I gladly accepted the challenge. At the time I had been in the industry for ten years as an Intern or an Assistant and was ready to take on more responsibility. It didn’t take long to realize Gentle Creek is a special place, and one that I am proud to be part of. My name is on the product that we produce and that’s what keeps me motivated to make it the best it can be. I believe Gentle Creek has a bright future. The golf course is great and we strive each day to make it better than it was yesterday. There is definitely room to grow and hidden potential to uncover. That excites me!

Chef Joseph's culinary intrigue began at the early age of 15 at The Bergheim Barbeque Restaurant in the small town of Bergheim, located in south Texas hill country. He was able to explore his early love and interest in cooking through various food establishments - such as Macaroni's Original and Rudy's Original, to name a few. By following his passion at such a young age, Joseph soon became the Sous Chef at Fair Oaks Country Club before the age of 18. His early experience allowed Joseph to continue his career as Sous Chef for several other organizations. Soon after working with Fair Oaks Country Club, Joseph began working for a Dallas movie and video production company for special arrangements and events. He continued his Sous Chef role for Radisson hotels at the Kendall Inn in Boerne, Texas. Upon returning to Dallas, Chef Joseph had the opportunity to feed Eric Clapton and the crew, including Santana and BB King for the Cross Roads Tour. His return to Texas led to opening a Cuban Restaurant in lower Greenville called Little Havana, followed by traveling to Hawaii to work for a Norwegian cruise line, and eventually ending up as the General Manager of Snookie's Bar & Grill. Joseph's extensive knowledge in the culinary world, continued to open doors for him. Before joining the Gentle Creek team as Sous Chef, he worked at Old Hickory at the Gaylord Texan, served as Sous Chef at the Fairmont Dallas, Pyramid Restaurant, as well as had the honor to serve at the first lady's, Barbara Bush, 90th birthday in Kennebunk Port, Maine. As you can tell - 'experience' is an understatement when it comes to Chef Joseph. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Management from the Art Institute of Dallas, as well as Associated and Accredited with the Texas Chefs Association and the American Chefs Federation. Joseph's extensive expertise aids in his role as teacher and mentor for the Gentle Creek staff when it comes to food and how to prepare and source for the absolute best flavors available. He stands firmly in his belief that sourcing locally, via local farms and ranches, is the best avenue in order to reach the finest and freshest ingredients for his culinary creations. His favorite style of cooking lies within South Texas cuisine, inspired by Spanish and modern American influenced dining. He is trained with both classical and modern techniques. Chef Joseph strives to stick with the current seasons by showcasing specialty dishes that compliment what is available during each specific time of year.

I was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, although I loved the summer, I hated the winters. While in college, at Southern Illinois University, I had a chance to visit Dallas and decided that one day I would like to move there. After graduation, I spent several years working in Sale & Management and eventually found my dream job as a Catering Consultant with an off-premise caterer. I loved working with brides & grooms planning their weddings! In addition, I also enjoyed planning large corporate events, as well as small home parties.
I met my husband, Kevin, through a close college friend. After a couple years of dating we got married and decided to start a family. With my family being my priority, I left my catering job to be at home with my first born. A couple of years later we had our second and then our third child. During those years at home with my children, I worked various part-time jobs, volunteered a lot, and eventually started two online web stores.
Although, we knew, when we got married, that my husband’s job would take us to Dallas, it took several years for it to happen. Last year, 2013, was a whirl wind of activity between selling our home, finding a home, and arranging the move. The “Rader 5” finally got down here on June 1, 2013.
Once we had been down here for several months, and considering that my kids were old enough, I thought it would be a great time to get back into the field I love. Gentle Creek offered a great opportunity for me to get “my feet wet” again in event planning while learning more about working in a country club atmosphere. As the Events and Offsite Catering, I am happy to help members with club social events and private party member events.

I am originally from Lubbock, TX and lived there through high school. It was a great place to grow up and most of my family still lives in that area. Growing up I played all sorts of sports, whether it was soccer, baseball or basketball, I was always doing something outdoors. I started playing golf when I was 11 and it didn’t take long for me to become hooked and very soon all of my free time became more and more devoted to it. I attended Coronado High School and was fortunate to play with and compete against some great players. We went to State my Junior and Senior year, finishing 8th and 1st respectively. Out of our 5 man roster, 4 of us went on to play Division 1 college golf. I played 2 years at Midland Junior College and after graduating, transferred to Kansas State University where I finished my college career with a degree in Finance.
I have been in the golf business for the past 9+ years, including time at Dallas Athletic Club and Preston Trail Golf Club, with the past 4 years spent at Gentle Creek. I have learned a lot and discovered that my passion lies in fitting and teaching this great game. Whether it be the beginner who has never picked up a golf club or someone that has played all of their life, I love passing on the knowledge that I have learned and growing the game of golf. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and working towards whatever your goals may be for your game! Born and raised in Plano, Texas, I was bound to return to my roots after attending Oklahoma State University. At OSU, I received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and was ready to make my way back to Texas to begin my career. I spent several years as a marketing representative in the title insurance world and was always eager to explore other industries where I could incorporate my marketing expertise. My husband, Preston, and I have always had our eye on a potential future in the Prosper/Celina area and recently bought a house in Light Farms. We are excited to become part of such an incredible community and look forward to its continuous growth and development; matching my excitement to now be a part of the GCCC team!
